Hawaii Newborn and Baby Portraiture by Simply Baby { Kailua & Honolulu, HI } bio picture
  • Love is the purest form of art.

    As the mother of three (that's me to the left, with my youngest), I know all too well how fleeting baby's first year is. Your love grows along with your baby, but memories fade with passing days. What do you most want to remember about those first moments? The tiny toes, downy soft cheeks and dream smiles? The way he grasps your finger tighter than you'd imagine possible, or how she fits so perfectly cuddled into the curve of your shoulder?

    Newborn portraits are truly a once in a lifetime opportunity. And as your baby grows, there are other milestones you'll want to record- gummy grins, sitting proudly, standing tall and of course baby's very first birthday.

    Simply Baby Photography was born out of my love for my children, and my desire to capture the pure beauty of babyhood along with the special bonds of family. I would be honored to share your family's story through my art.

A Little Ray of Sunshine {Kailua studio & Kaneohe outdoor newborn session}

Introducing Sunny.

I was almost as excited at Sunny’s arrival as her family- I photographed her older sister’s newborn session nearly two years ago. It was an honor and a joy to photograph the sisters together.

This has to be one of my favorite family newborn portraits ever. The love and joy are overflowing and I couldn’t stop smiling watching them together.

Family with newborn baby

Sunny smiled at Daddy’s kisses.

She is loved beyond words.

We did a setup similar to Casey’s session- it was fun to see how similar the sisters are as newborns, while each having their own distinct look.

Pretty in pink!

Second only to the family portraits, these outdoor images were definitely favorites from this session.

Thank you Keao and Scott for sharing your beautiful new daughter, and congratulations again!

Newborn Twin Girls {Hawaii newborn multiples portraits}

When these little angels arrived at the Kailua studio, I first thought they had to be identical- they were even in the exact same pose in their car seats!

There’s something about baby twins that makes everyone ooh and ahh and fall in love, and these two were certainly no exception- just look at those beautiful faces.

After spending a few hours with them, I started to see the little differences that prove they’re fraternal.

Ava was born first, a bit chubbier and with more hair.

Adriana is the younger, smaller twin.

They also brought their adoring big sister along. I’ve photographed twins with older siblings before, but this was the first time I had twin girls with an older sister. I can only imagine all the giggles and tea parties ahead!

See what I mean about the identical posing? They did this adorable foot pose completely on their own!

Cutest little mermaids ever- we photographed the maternity session on the beach.

Born 4 weeks early and photographed at 17 days old, this duo slept so beautifully and peacefully I set a new record for number of images captured in studio- over 82 unique images presented. I have no idea how mom & dad will choose which to print, and it’s good they get an album from their Belly & Baby collection! I wish their family much joy over the coming years, and I can’t wait to watch their daughters grow and blossom.

At Home with Mya {Ewa Beach Nursery Session}

Most of my clients opt for studio sessions- all the props are here, and let’s face it, once you have a baby your home usually isn’t quite as tidy as it once was. So when Mya’s family said they wanted a session in their home, I was looking forward to the change of pace (though not so much the drive alllll the way to Ewa, where I always, always get lost coming or going!).

When I arrived, Mya had just woken from her nap and was a bit shy. Once we put her in her crib, though, she just wanted to dance! I loved capturing the spontaneous moments as she showed off for mommy and daddy.

Everything came together for this session to become one of my favorites- sweet adorable baby, beautiful light in a lovely home, and two very devoted parents.

And I didn’t even get (very) lost on the way home.
