Baby L visited the studio for her first portraits at 3 weeks old and over 11lbs! She’s one of the biggest newborns I’ve photographed, and I absolutely love her delicious cheeks and full head of hair. She was very awake and curious, but soon settled into dreamland and did wonderfully for her studio portrait session.
Her parents requested pink and flowers for her newborn session, and I think we nailed it! Pink is definitely her color, and that little grin is perfection. The basket poses show off her cute cheeks and bitty fingers.
While family poses looking at the camera are a given, more casual and candid portraits of babies and parents together truly capture the bond and the joy of a new little one. Who hasn’t marveled over those precious, perfect details of their newborn? Tiny kissable noses, fingers, and toes, and the little sighs in their sleep. Doesn’t she look secure and content in daddy’s arms?
She also brought her grandma, who was absolutely besotted with her new granddaughter. Sometimes grandparents are a bit shy about being photographed, but I always offer to include them for a special portrait- and I love capturing 3 generations together. You can feel how much little L is loved.
